enims Ltd were delighted to be invited once again to take part in Kier’s Area 3 Safety, Health and Environment week; a five-day event which offers all employees, managers and directors in the regional Highways England supply chain a fantastic chance to share their insights, innovations and expertise with the many diverse organisations that work together across the network. It also gave around 60 children from a local school the chance to learn about health, safety and the environmental side of the highways industry.
Ross Baird, one of our Environmental Consultants, was on hand throughout the week presenting different elements of our environmental services, as well as sharing knowledge and discussing the environmental challenges that we face on a day-to-day basis.
The headline act, however, arrived on Friday when enims had invited Matt from Liberty's Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre, a local charity, to give a talk and showcase four native birds that can be found in and around Area 3.
Matt with Flymo the Kestrel
Matt introduced everyone to four stunning birds; a Kestrel, a Peregrine Falcon, a Barn Owl and a beautiful Tawny Owl. The talk was both informative and entertaining, and helped enims illustrate the fantastic British wildlife that can be found on our door step, and along our highways.
Maloo, the Peregrine Falcon
Soren, the (noisey) Barn Owl
Bramble, the Tawney Owl
It was great to see such a wide range of current (and future!) stakeholders engaging with some native species and learning a great deal about these birds. We thank Matt and Liberty's for putting together a fantastic presentation.
